PayPal is Australia’s preferred payment method and 40% of Aussies online spend is overseas

More Australians say that PayPal is their preferred payment method for online shopping than any other. Some 29% of Australians identified PayPal as their preferred payment method for online shopping, ahead of Visa at 25% and MasterCard at 14%.

Woolies tries to keep online price-check web address a secret

Supermarket chain, Woolworths, is trying to keep secret the web address of its new online price check service at  www.woolworths.com.au/wps/wcm/connect/Website/Woolworths/Whats-New/Price-Check

Anyone wanting to access the service first has to agree to a set of terms and conditions, one of which is that: “The site’s URL may not be displayed on any website without Woolworths’  written permission.”

Shopping.com releases Au version of iPhone app

Australia is one of only four countries, along with the US, the UK  and Germany , to get a localized version of Shopping.com’s Apple iPhone application. 

Shopping.com, which is a wholly owned eBay subsidiary, announced the release of the local app on Tuesday of this week, at the same time as announcing the addition of consumer reviews.
